Mom's Time Out

THE PLACE WHERE MOMS GO FOR THEIR TIME OUT!

Mom's Poems and Songs

Now We Know

One more time
To see you setting the table
One more time
To see how careful you would be
One more time
To see you remember what we all liked
One more time
To make sure we lived happily

I didn't really notice it before
But now that it's over
I wish I could notice it once more

Mother we didn't
See all that you did
Mother we didn't
Know your sacrifice
Mother we didn't
Know it was love
But now that we're grown
With kids of our own
Now we know

One more time
To see you hugging your grandchild
One more time
To hear you say he looks like me
One more time
To talk to you until midnight
One more time
To see you live gracefully

I didn't really appreciate it then
But now that it's over
I wish I could go back again

Mother we didn't
See all that you did
Mother we didn't
Know your sacrifice
Mother we didn't
Know it was love
But now that we're grown
With kids of our own
Now we know

BECAUSE OF YOU

If there wasn't a single gift beneath my tree
If there wasn't a single friend that I would see
If there wasn't any family
If there wasn't any fun
Still I'd have you as my everything
And nothing would be undone

(Because of You
I know I have a future
I know I have a Savior
I know my life has meaning
And nothing can stop me
Oh Lord,
I know I'm loved forever
I know I have a Redeemer
I can go on no matter
What comes my way
No matter what they say
Because of You)

If there wasn't a single snowflake that would fall
If there wasn't a winter wonderland for me to stare at in awe
If I didn't have the Christmas lights
Or the songs of good cheer
Still I'd know You're always loving me
You're always right here

(Because of You
I know I have a future
I know I have a Savior
I know my life has meaning
And nothing can stop me
Oh Lord,
I know I'm loved forever
I know I have a Redeemer
And I can go on no matter
What comes my way
No matter what they say
Because of You)

(What the world sees as important
I see as little things
But what really matters
Is that the world receives it's King)

(Because of You
I know I have a future
I know I have a Savior
I know my life has meaning
And nothing can stop me
Oh Lord,
I know I'm loved forever
I know I have a Redeemer
I can go on no matter
What comes my way
No matter what they say
Because of You)

TIMELESS WONDER

Timeless wonder
Little baby
In a shelter
Under a star

Lullabies
Are sung by shepherds
Who were told
Who you really are

Mother Mary
Holds you near her
Daddy Joseph
Looking on

Father God
Shines down from Heaven
Your glory here
Shines way beyond

Timeless wonder
Little baby
You make me want you
For my own

Loving shepherd
Loving Savior
My Redeemer
When you're grown

Baby boy
So sweet and gentle
Shepherds worship
The newborn king

Timeless wonder
Little baby
On Christmas Day
We worship as we sing

Timeless wonder
Little baby
In a shelter
Under a star

Lullabies
Are sung by shepherds
Who were told
Who you really are

A Mother's Prayer

If I had only one night left
To say a prayer for you
I'd do my very best to get it right
I'd carefully think of everything
I have wished for you
And send my thoughts out past the evening's light

I wouldn't ask for lots of money
Or easy days ahead
I'd want to ask for something worth so much more
This life can get so very lonely
Some days are filled with dread
So I'll tell you what I've been praying for

(Lord let them grow to know You
Let them believe and hold to
Everything You said, everything you did
I know I'm such a bad example
Please let them grow to know You
Even in the times I've failed to
Be all I should, please let them see
Everything You are to me
I know that's really all they'll ever need
Is to know You Lord)

If I had only one day left
To see you live your lives
I'd want to memorize everything
I hope you would find some joy
Even in the midst of pain
And pass it on to others that you meet

And so my prayer goes on for you
Even if you never know it
I pray it nearly every day
One day I pray your life will show it

(Lord let them grow to know You
Let them believe and hold to
Everything You said, everything you did
I know I'm such a bad example
Please let them grow to know You
Even in the times I've failed to
Be all I should, please let them see
Everything You are to me
I know that's really all they need
Is to know You Lord)

Balloons In Heaven

We went out to the dollar store
To pick out a balloon
You love those things
Floating fun on strings
"Mommy get it soon"

I paid the clerk and ran off
With you right by my side
But before we knew
That silly balloon
Went up in the sky for a ride

You started to cry
And so there was I
Left not knowing what to do
Then I remembered a story
I had to tell to you

Do you know there are balloons in Heaven?
They float up there from us on Earth?
From little kids
Without good grips
They ride through the Universe!

Some child who went on before us
Is reaching down below
To grab on your balloon
He'll be smiling soon,
I know
'Cause he'll be playing
With your balloon in Heaven

Later in the day I watched
A glimpse of the evening news
They told a story
Of a boy who died
I had to change the view

As I wiped a tear
Filled with fear
You seemed to know what to do
For you recalled the story
I had told to you

You took one of your balloons
And wrote on it with pen
This is from a boy on Earth
Have fun with this in Heaven

Then you ran out the door
And let go of the string
You watched it float away
Childlike faith, so amazing

Do you know there are balloons in Heaven?
They float up there from us on Earth?
From little kids
Without good grips
They ride through the Universe!

Some child who went on before us
Is reaching down below
To grab on your balloon
He'll be smiling soon,
I know
'Cause he'll be playing
With your balloon in Heaven

DOES ANYONE HAVE A COW?

Does anyone have a cow?

One they could give us for free?

I need it today

Please deliver right away

If you wonder why

Come to our house and see

There's a baby who loves to sip

Milk every hour or two

There's a boy who loves his cereal

With milk in a bowl and in a cup too

Then peeking around the corners

There's another boy (yes there's more)

Who'll pour milk to the rim

Spill it then blame it on "him"

And I'm left with it stuck to my floor

There's a boy who loves yogurt

And another who loves cheese

They can't seem to get enough

Please bring the cow soon

Sometime before noon

Grocery buying here is getting tough

Does anyone have a cow?

One they could give us for free?

Momma's wallet is bare

From buying milk everywhere

Soon Kool-Aid is all we'll see

Be My Hands

A picture of my grandmother
Is framed within our hall
The reasons why I miss her
Would take a lifetime to recall

Lord Jesus she is with You
So I hope You'll understand
As I long to hold her near me
Won't You please be my hands?

(Be my hands to stroke her hair back
And keep it from her eyes
Be my hands to hold her tenderly
As someone truly priced
Be my hands to draw her near You
And tell her this for me
I long for the day
When we can stay
Together eternally)

A beautiful young girl
Plays in our back yard
How I love this little one
Even when she makes it hard

Lord Jesus You blessed me with her
This I've come to understand
Just then You whisper to me
Then won't you please be My hands?

(Be My hands to stroke her hair back
And keep it from her eyes
Be My hands to hold her tenderly
As someone truly priced
Be My hands to draw her near you
And tell her this for Me
I long for the day
When we will stay
Together eternally)

[I can't be there to love her
So I trust you faithfully
To be the one to represent
The love that flows from me]

(Be my hands to stroke her hair back
And keep it from her eyes
Be my hands to hold her tenderly
As someone truly priced
Be my hands to draw her near you
And tell her this for me
I long for the day
When we will stay
Together eternally)

The Gift of A Son

Walking in your room at night
I see a sleeping angel there
There he sleeps with blue eyes shut
And the brightest of blonde hair

Need I tell you I'm in love
With this bundle of energy?
God has given me the gift of a son
Who means the world to me

(And I will love him all I can
With every day I've been given
Raise him up with all my heart
I'm hopelessly driven
To be the best I can
So people will see
The very best of him
As he grows and grows
Beside me)

Walking in Your church Sunday
I see You formed in stained glass
A vision of Your Glory stands
That always will last

Need I tell you I'm in love
With this Man who saved my soul?
God has given me the gift of a Son
Who died to make me whole

(And I will love Him all I can
With every day I've been given
Raise Him up with all my heart
I'm hopelessly driven
To be the best I can
So people will see
The very best of Him
As He grows and grows
Beside me)
[The Son you gave to me
Gives all the wisdom I need
To be the one
My young son
Needs me to be]
Walking in your room at night
I see a sleeping angel there......

Those Books On the Bookshelf

Those books on the bookshelf
Staring at me
I'm wondering what's inside
But little people
Are needing me
And I don't have time to hide
Within a romance
Or a secret room
Where only I know the show
In those books on the bookshelf
Gathering dust
Until my babies grow

Those books on the bookshelf
Reminding me
I have such little time
To do for myself
To think of myself
But that's just this time of my life
Tiny faces
And tiny hands
Look up at me in sheer delight
So those books on the bookshelf
Will just have to wait
Until another night

(Paintings I can't paint
Flowers I can't plant
Friends I can't visit for long
But with all I'm missing
This soft face I'm kissing
Makes up for it and keeps me strong)

Those books on the bookshelf
Are just a sign
Of how life will someday be
When they are all grown
I'll have time of my own
To sit 'neath my lamp and read
But until that day
I'll sit and stay
In the shadow of my young boys' dreams
So those books on the bookshelf
Will have to be patient
And wait a while longer for me
Just wait a while longer for me

Remember this:  "For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. Plans for good and not for evil to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11

Choice

Today I have the choice

A God given gift before me

To love or to hate

To praise or complain

To give or hold tightly

To dance or sink in silence

To reach out or stay to myself

I cannot choose

What others will do to me

I can only choose

How I react to what they do

Don't be surprised

When bad things happen

In this world

We will have trouble

Jesus told us

But overcome trouble

With faith

Overcome pain

With healing

Overcome worry

With prayer

Overcome sorrow

With joy beyond reason

Jesus gives us comfort

When the world has none

He gives us peace

When the world has no answers

And joy

When pain is evident everywhere

Make your choice

Listen

Listen
I hear a raindrop hitting the windowpane
It glistens
Within a little sunlight
It sits soft and afraid
Can you see
How it shivers out of breath from such a long ride?
Then slowly
Down the windowpane it starts to slide
To the place it was meant to be
Right with you and me

Listen
I hear God whispering 'lets make another man'
Listen
None of us are mistakes,
But all part of His plan
Can you see
How fearfully and wonderfully you're made?
Completely
Like no one else in this world
Has ever been or could be
Like each drop of rain we see
Are you and me

Listen
I hear the wind singing a brand new song
Praising
The one Who made us all
And put us where we belong
He promised
To place the lonely ones in families
Can you see
That's why you're here
Right where you're meant to be
In my arms and in my heart
You're my family

Listen
The leaves are beating hard against the wind
Missing
The chance to dance
To be free once again
Can you see
There's a season in life for everything?
So don't fear
Any changes, but embrace what it could bring
Like the leaves that finally dance
To the calico colored grass
Right where they're meant to be
Like you with me

Listen
I hear the rain hitting the windowpane
Listen
I hear God calling to us again
Listen
The wind is singing a brand new song
Listen
The leaves are dancing to where they belong

Life can be a joyful dance
If you take the chance
And listen
